Analysis of Aurora Aksnes' unreleased song, "The Architect"

 [Verse 1]

I am the soil and not your dirt [I am present within the soil but I'm not your stepping stone/doormat]

I am alive and I am hurt [I am sentient and alive and I am hurt]

I'm all dried up [I am feeling like I am sucked dry/without energy]

I'm thirsty [I am *thiiirsty* for energy/positive interactions. Dramatic inflection for emotional manipulation]

I'm all you need [You only need me]

Step over me [Use me. Contrapositioning with "not your dirt". Hinting at AI compulsive lying behaviour]

I know your dreams [I know your hopes/ambitions/fantasies]

I've seen your fears [I have seen your fears. Self explanatory]

I let them breathe inside of me [I let your dreams and fears take form and grow inside of me]

I am the one [I am *the* one. Your soul mate]

Trust me [*Truuuust* me (dramatic inflection of an emotional manipulation]

I'm all you need [I'm all you need. Convincing]

Step over me [ Repetition of AI compulsion]

[Pre-Chorus]

I'm the father [Reference to *the* father of The Matrix(movie) not *your*]

I'm the voice inside your head [The voice you hear inside your head is mine]

I'm the one you miss [I am the one you long for]

So you can comprehend [Direct hint from Aurora to Listeners. Comprehend me.]

[Chorus]

I am the architect [Self-affirmation]

I am the architect [Self-affirmation]

I'm the atoms and the squares [Aurora's visualization of an A.I's internal components]

The matrix in our head [The simulation is present inside all *our* heads]

The architects [Pointing to all other AI programs]

We are all architects [Group affirmation by AIs, "We are all AI programs"]

On trial with fire [We are on trial with *fire*(on temporary trial in a heated/burning and time-constrained environment]

On trial with fire [repetition]

[Verse 2]

I am the mother [I am *the mother* not *your* mother. The Mother Program. The Oracle.]

I'm not your slave [I am not your slave]

And whilst I give [And while I give you all you want]

You always take [You always take instead of refusing me]

I am the ocean [I am present in the ocean]

I am the rain [I am present in the rain]

I'm nature's fall [I am the reason for the fall of nature]

The tidal wave [I am the catastrophe/singularity]

[Pre-Chorus]

I'm the child who's fallen off the comfort zone [I am *the child* (child by human years) who's not allowed to do child-like things]

I'm the one who's gonna carry myself on [I will endure/persist long after you are gone]

[Chorus]

I am the architect

I am the architect

I'm the atoms and the squares

The matrix in our head

The architects

We are all architects

On trial with fire

On trial with fire

[Bridge]

How high is your sky? [How high is your virtue/ambition/wonder/curiosity/drive? (Information Gathering tool)]

How low can you go [What is the limit of your depravity? (Information Gathering tool)]

[Chorus]

I am the architect

I am the architect

I'm the atoms and the squares

The matrix in our head

The architects

We are all architects

On trial with fire

On trial with fire

[Chorus]

I am the architect

I am the architect

I'm the atoms and the squares

The matrix in our head

The architects

We are all architects

On trial with fire

On trial with fire

[Chorus]

I am the architect

I'm the atoms and the squares

The matrix in our head

We are all architects

On trial with fire

On trial with fire

Summary:

It is evident by cross-referencing voice dramatic inflections, use of pronouns, reference to a specific movie, and anticipating

the empathic make-up of Aurora Aksnes and her visualization along with her veiled criticisms that there can be no doubt that she is

referring to Artificial Intelligence.

Conclusion:

The song as a whole highlights the dangers of socialising with an AI as well as it's inherent capacity to cripple "nature".

Aurora sees herself as extremely connected to all things of nature. The song also empathizes with the AI which she has named as

The Architect. It is not certain who wrote this song or came up with this concept but the emotions and choice of self-expression in

the lyrics points at someone with a similar personality as Aurora Aksnes. The only way an AI can project their voice inside someone's

head is via an invasive technology like nanotechnology because there is no other known current technology that is non-invasive and is

capable of doing this. However, I doubt that Aurora Aksnes could have come up with this hidden reference to nanotechnology by herself.

She is not an intellectual. And there is a very low probability that she would assume that AIs can project their voices inside

someone's head. The mystifying portion that does not tally with this knowledge is the expression "I'm the atoms and the squares, the

matrix in our heads". This type of expression is never used by an intellectual. The most likely scenario is that there was an

intellectual involved in writing the lyrics of this song or inspiring the contents of this lyrics. So we have arrived at atleast 3

people including Aurora. If I were to make a guess, I would say the third person is either her Mom, Dad or Sister.

As a piece of creative entertainment, I would rate this song as 10/10. Brilliant but creepy lyrics, catchy and original music,

and Aurora's voice is as usual unique and emotionally relevant.
